Suffolk County, NY

The GRASP Suffolk County, NY support group for adults is a partnership with AHANY, a parents and professional organization based on the island.

Who: Anyone on the spectrum is invited, plus those in support roles if they clearly identify their role. Membership information is kept through the main GRASP office, so you must subscribe before you can attend.  This allows your membership to remain as anonymous as you desire.  We respectfully request that anyone in attendance not share with others the names of anyone else they have seen at a meeting.

When and Where:
Please see the GRASP calendar for details on upcoming meetings. We meet one Saturday per month from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at YAI, 555 Washington Avenue, Brentwood, New York 11717.

Directions:

From West: Long Island Expressway (I-495) eastbound to exit 53. Stay on service road in left lane. You will pass the exits for the Sagtikos Parkway and Wicks Road. After Wicks Road/County Rte. 7 exit move into the right lane (DO NOT GO ONTO THE L.I.E. AGAIN). You will see a sign for Washington Avenue. Stay to the right. At the light turn left onto Washington Ave. Go over LIE past the first traffic light and turn into parking lot of first building on right side, #555 (white building) just before the gas station. Park and enter on the right side of the building.

From East: Long Island Expressway (I-495) westbound to Exit 55 (Motor Pkwy.). Stay on service road crossing over Motor Pkwy. You will pass a long white building (The Hauppauge Center for Light Industry). The next light is Washington Avenue. Turn right onto Washington Ave. The first building on right is #555 (white building). Turn right into parking lot just before the gas station. Park and enter on the right side of the building.

From South Shore: Southern State Pkwy eastbound to Exit 41A Sagtikos Pkwy north, which will exit on the left. Proceed on the Sagtikos Pkwy to the LIE (I495) eastbound exit (Exit S1E). On ramp to the LIE, bear right to service road and Wicks Road. The first traffic light is Wicks Road. Continue straight across and follow the service road. There will be a sign that says Washington Ave. Turn left at light onto Washington Avenue. Go over LIE to #555, first building on right (white building). Turn right into parking lot just before gas station. Park and enter on the right side of the building.

Cost: All GRASP groups are absolutely FREE to attend. However, GRASP survives on funding from foundations, corporations, and generous individuals.
