Comment by brenda on February 12, 2013 at 9:17am Hi, there Mary Ann.
I too am new to this site, and in a very similar way I began by reading the book you are now reading, by M.J. Carly. I have also read Aspergirls, by Rudy Simone which is wonderful, and am now reading Tony Attwood's on aspergers.
Please join a small discussion group which a few of us have started up, which meets Monday, and Thursady's at 8:30 EST/ 7:30 CST/ 6:30 MST/ 5:30 PST, if you like.
Welcome!
Brenda
Comment by Denver NeVaar on February 12, 2013 at 10:49am Yes, welcome, Mary Ann. I think we are all very thankful for the GRASP website and the friendships this place encourages. I hope you will join us right here in the chat room on Mondays or Thursdays (or both), as your schedule allows. I look forward to chatting with you then. Yes, there are often diverse opinions represented there, but I think that's what helps us to grow in understanding both ourselves and others.
Comment by Ka-io Loi on February 13, 2013 at 11:20am How do you get self-diagnosis? Does the clinical authority recognize this diagnosis? I have recently learned about the Asperger Syndrome and suspected I am an aspie, because the symptoms perfectly explain the hardships I have gone through since childhood. For this reason, I want to have a formal diagnosis ASAP!

Comment by Ka-io Loi on February 14, 2013 at 10:27am Thanks for your information. But it's not something I look for. I did the AQ test already, I scored 33, which indicated I have severe traits of Autism Spectrum. But I want to be qualified for counseling so I need a formal diagnosis.
