A Message from the New Executive Director of GRASP

Dear Members, Families, Friends, and Fellow Spectrumites,

I am so excited to be writing this letter to you today as the new Executive Director of GRASP.  As the facilitator of the Hudson Valley support group chapter, I have had the privilege of working closely with Michael John, the Board, and the members of this wonderful organization.  I have been a witness to and a participant in the great work that we do to spread the word of our mission:  which is to improve the lives of adults and teens on the autism spectrum through community outreach, peer supports, education, and advocacy.  Michael John and GRASP have done an incredible job since 2003 of doing just that, and I am honored to be given the opportunity to continue the legacy of leading our organization, our membership, and our community toward our common goal.

I look forward to what lies ahead for us.  I know that we are in a time of change, not only within our organization, but within our community.  And, that can sometimes be challenging.  But, with dedication, hard work, and community support, we can accomplish our common goals together.  I am grateful for the opportunity to be the individual to lead GRASP through this time of change into our 10th year, with the same strength and conviction that you have come to rely on.

Because we have such a strong foundation, GRASP has a bright future ahead!!!  This change can lead to great things for all of us.  I am looking forward to working with you and supporting our community in the days and years to come.

Thank you and Sincerely,

Kate Palmer, MA, CCP

Congrats Kate, I'm curious now though, because I sent an email to Michael about starting a chapter in Minnesota last week, yet to get a reply. Should I email it to you now, or hold off?
