Welcome to the Winnipeg, Canada GRASP support group !
GRASP Winnipeg is a support group for adults on the Asperger Spectrum - to meet each other, talk about things on your mind, and get support and feedback from others.
Your facilitator is Rod Cloutier, cloutierfamily@aol.com.
When: Please see the GRASP calendar for details on upcoming meetings. As of early 2012 we are planning to meet one Monday per month, from 6-6:45PM. Given that this group is still in the start-up phase, the timing for future meetings may vary according to member preferences - we have tried different times for meetings held meetings in December 2011, January 2012 and February 2012.
Where: Boardroom #119 at the United Way Learning Center, 580 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Click here to see a Google Map. The site has excellent bus access, and there are large surface parking lots located conveniently nearby. How to get there depends on where you’re starting from. Located downtown at the intersection of Main Street and Alexander, this is only 1 block from the Manitoba Museum, or two blocks north of city hall. Bus routes #11- Portage Downtown, #16 Selkirk, #18 North main, all stop just across the street from the location.
Who: Anyone on the spectrum is invited. Membership information is kept through the main GRASP office, so you must subscribe before you can attend. This allows your membership to remain as anonymous as you desire. We respectfully request that anyone in attendance not share with others the names of anyone else they have seen at a meeting.
Cost: All GRASP groups are absolutely FREE to attend. However, GRASP survives on funding from foundations, corporations, and generous individuals. If you wish to donate to GRASP, we would gratefully appreciate it (and we’re almost certain to need it). You can make a tax-deductible donation with a credit card via our DONATE page or mail your check made out to GRASP to: GRASP, 666 Broadway, Suite 825, New York, NY 10012

(out of over 6,500 people, we've luckily only had to use this 7 times.
But there'll be more— we are vulnerable by design as we do not demand that everyone bring often-expensive proof of diagnosis)
