Get Involved!
There are several ways you can become involved.
A) Why give? Well… If you are an adult who has benefited from our free subscriptions or groups, and who has the means, please give so that others can enjoy the same boost in self-esteem and empowerment that you enjoy, or now enjoy. If you are a parent, GRASP was the first (and is still currently) the only autism organization to focus primarily on adults. And if you want your children to enter a world that accepts them for who they are, as opposed to who they are not, then you will need GRASP to continue to spread its message. If you are a friend of someone on the spectrum, give because you know that peer-run supports will foster independence and self-love. And if you have no personal connection to the autism spectrum, yet simply agree with GRASP’s platform, whether it is our belief in the joy of shared experience, the pride in self-advocacy, or in the purpose of anti-cure sentiments and the behavioral pluralism that is perhaps the new arena of civil rights, please help. Thanks for your consideration. As a still young startup non-profit, our budget is barely six-figures this year—amazing considering how far we grew so quickly in every other facet of organizational growth. And given our success rate, think of what we could do with the budgets of larger organizations. Which leads us to . . . B) HOW to give… If able and willing, please write a check made out to “GRASP” and mail it to our offices at 666 Broadway, New York, NY 10012; or make a secure PayPal donation by credit card through our website at http://www.grasp.org/donate.htm. GRASP is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization. And we promise to put your gifts to good use. Or, you can help us by raising money through fundraisers in your community, even if this merely entails passing the hat at a well-attended function. Or, you can help us to find donors who would be excited by what we do. Thank you for even thinking of helping us, and for listening!
